Spillers Orthodontics is proud to announce the recipients of the 2021 Spillers Orthodontics Scholarship. High school seniors Avery Adams and Timothy Feagin, both former patients, were selected from numerous applicants. Each will receive $1,000 to support their respective college educations.
The Spillers Orthodontics Scholarship was created by Dr. Don Spillers as a way to give back to his patients and to reward those students with a drive and desire to make a positive difference in our community and the world. Without scholarship funds, Dr. Spillers could not have completed the schooling needed to become an orthodontist. He told himself that if he ever had the opportunity, he would start a scholarship program to give back and help his patients achieve their dreams as well.
Selected by an impartial board, Adams and Feagin were chosen based on their achievement, leadership and service throughout their high school years. They both wrote compelling essays about life experiences that influenced their future aspirations and received excellent references.
Adams, a Byron resident and graduate of The Westfield School, plans to attend the University of Georgia in Athens. Feagin, a resident of Warner Robins and graduate of Houston County High School, will attend Georgia State University in Atlanta.
This is the eighth consecutive year that Spillers Orthodontics has awarded scholarships to high school graduates who are either current or former patients. Applications for the 2022 scholarship are due March 1, 2022. For more information about the Spillers Orthodontics Scholarship or to access the scholarship application, please visit DrSpillers.com.
