Warner Robins, Georgia: June 1, 2018 – Spillers Orthodontics is proud to announce the recipients of the 2018 Spillers Orthodontics Scholarship. High school seniors Rickey Weston, II, and Eleanor Knight, both former patients, were selected from 82 applicants. Each will receive $1,000 to be applied toward tuition, books, fees, or any other related expenses for their first year of college.
“We are so proud of Rickey and Ellie,” says Dr. Don Spillers. “It is a privilege and an honor to be able to give back to our orthodontic families and to reward those students with a drive and desire to make a positive difference in our community.”
Selected by an impartial board, Weston and Knight were chosen based on their achievement, leadership and service throughout their high school years. They also received excellent references.
A Warner Robins resident and Houston County High School graduate, Weston will attend Fort Valley State University. Knight, a resident of Bonaire and graduate of The Westfield School, will attend The University of Georgia in Athens.
This is the fifth year Spillers Orthodontics has offered scholarships to high school graduates who are either current or former patients. Applications for the 2019 scholarship are due March 18, 2019.
